The reign of Villegas has begun. YourHub.com community journalist Kevin Villegas is the leader (by a single point) after one day of play in the YourHub.com Bracketastic Basketballogy Contest (not the actual name).

I thought I was pretty hot stuff when I saw that Duke lost. I had chosen Duke to lose to Virginia Commonwealth University, much more out of spite than any actual basketball knowledge. I thought for sure that that wonderful pick would skyrocket me to the top of our pool. Not so. My several other chancey moves (Oral Roberts, Texas Tech and George Washington, I'm looking at you) did not pay off, and John Eisel also had the foresight to choose Duke to lose.

I'm currently eighth out of 10 in our group. That sounds bad, but not as bad as when you realize that John Brandstetter and whoever Best Guess left their brackets blank. So I'm essentially eighth out of eight.
