MLB is denied Make A Wish Foundation bid....
Contributed by: Thomas Van Ness   on 10/22/2007

Lets start this off by saying, "Thank god MLB is not running the Make A Wish Foundation!"

I just wanted to say thank you to Major League Baseball for deciding to only allow online ticket sales for the 2007 World Series in Denver, Colorado.

Because of the overwhelming traffic and people trying to go online, true Rocky/baseball fans are screwed in getting tickets.

Thank god for scalpers.....now I can trade my car for 1 ticket....if a scalper wants my P.O.S. ride!

It is just really frustrating that people who have enjoyed the Rockies all year, and previous years leading up to this historical event, now cannot get tickets.

What is up with scalpers having special software to bump them up in line (where is the true fan software that kicks the money making ^ssh*les (scalpers) out of line)?

MLB decides not to let true fans wait overnight outside the ticket office to buy tickets (its worked for years - why fix it), its just crap!

I guess I can still support the Denver economy by going to downtown and watching from a bar and drinking $15 dollar beers (just like in the game) and be a part of history - I can't wait to tell my grandkids that story...

"Well kids, 39 years ago I tried going to my first world series game in Denver. The Rockies won their last 21 in 22 games to get to this point....the town was purple, the papers and tv stations were going crazy, the town was goingcrazy, the fans were crazy...MLB and the Rockies were CRAZY!"

Little Annie ask, "Why grandpa, why were they so crazy?"

I reply, "Welllittle Annie, it was the Rockies first trip to the series. So that is why the town was going crazy and the fans were going crazy. As for MLB and the Rockies organization.....well they decided to allow only online sales....so the servers got jammed and everyone got screwed."

"Well, that wasn't very nice of them," Little Annie says with disapointment, "what did they all do?"

"You could only imagineAnnie," I said, "instead ofgoing crazy over their firsttrip, the fans startedturning over cop cars and throwing their computers out of the office windows....itwas mayhem fordays!"

Well anyway.....THANK YOU MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL AND ROCKIES ORGANIZATION!
