Broncos and the Eddie factor
Contributed by: Travis Henry   on 11/24/2006

O.K., so it's no secret when it comes to the National Football League I am a homer. I tailgate every home game and am pretty sure the loss to San Diego is squarely on my shoulders. Usually,we listen to Iron Maiden or some other heavy metal music pretty loud before every game. It's a tradition definitely owed to my friends John Kosko and Steve "Fatberry" Stansberry.

My two more rowdy fellow tailgaters couldn't make the San Diego game, so the group I was with played music of a different genre. Actually, I was in charge of the tunes, so I have no one else to blame. I had a bad feeling walking in that my musical choices were a mistake and I almost wanted to run back to the car for a quick listen to Run to the Hills. Alas, I didn't. San Diego is on me.

I'll blame the Indy and K.C. game on Jake.

Since some of the Broncos woes are my fault, I'm hoping to make amends and luckily my job here at YourHub.com world headquarters can help me do that.

I need all Broncos fans to prove to the rest of the world that our team might be down, but it's not out. We are still 7-4 and we might just have lightning in the bottle with our man Jay.

Post stories and photos telling us why you are a Broncos fan. We will highlight stories and photos on the Web and in the YourHub.com print edition, delivered with home subscriptions of the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post every Thursday and in a special Broncos Country print section.

You could also win tickets, pre-game field passes and Broncos Barn tickets for the Dec. 31 game against the San Francisco 49ers, which just happens to be fan appreciation night.

But you have to prove it to us that you deserve them. Submit creative stories, photos, etc., detailing why you or someone you know puts the mania in Broncomania. Deadline to enter is Dec. 20.

And remember, no matter what game you go to, pump the metal loud.

I would blame them all on Jake "I never met a leg I didn't pee down when the game was on the line" Plummer.

Travis, I know what you mean. Music IS important. I know a guy in Cincinnati that took the blame for the entire decade of the 1990's losses of the Bengals because he kept forgetting to play Pink Floyd's least known album, "Animals." As for Plummer-Cutler, I normally don't like to see a q-back change while a team is still in contention but Romo in Dallas proves it can work. What the hell, bring on Cutler!
