With todays worries of financial uncertainty & the high prices of groceries when it seems as if the jobs market has crashed also, it makes a person stop & think what he/she can do to become less dependent on everybody else. That is why I am working on becoming debt free and just working my little homestead.

It would be nice to have a couple more guys around here to help make this all work the way it should, but in the mean time, its still going on. I have worked this past Summer getting alot of different Poultry in, and getting them raised. I started in April, and I have got alot of things raised up pretty well I have African Geese, Several breeds of ducks, Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys, Guineas, Alot of Chickens, including my Heritage Breeds which are Rhode island Reds & New Hamshire Reds. I also have miniature Goats. I now have 4 with the latest 2 kids being born on 11-16-09.

Living arrangements are quite simple for the moment, I have a 14x70 mobile home. It sure beats living in a tent...lol...It has its own water/septic...the only utilities I pay is electric and of course phone, but the phone is not quite a necessity. I heat it totally by wood.I try to use alot of used materials in thebuilding of barns & so forth. At least it keeps that much out of landfills. So I would love to hear from anybody near or far...it does get boring out sometimes by myself...lol...
