Colorado Ceramists Exhibit in Lakewood's Radius Gallery
Parallel Pathways is a retrospective into the lifetime work of two former master Colorado ceramists,
Rodger Land and
Mark Zamantakis, February 12 to May 30, 2008, in the Radius Gallery at Lakewood's Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street.
Land was a 30-year instructor at Metropolitan State College of Denver and inspired students to become professional leaders in the ceramics field.
At age 34, Mark Zamantakis started his 26-year career teaching the next generation of artists in Denver Public Schools, while perfecting his own interpretation of the classic ceramic vessel.
Both artists have distinctive, individual styles but their artwork and lives have created parallel paths. With formal training, creative inspirations and following personal paths, Land and Zamantakis taught how the passion and spirit of clay can be fused into everyday life.
A reception for
Parallel Pathways will be free to the public on Friday, February 22, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Radius Gallery at Lakewood's Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street. Some pieces will be available for purchase.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and directions, call 303-987-7850 or visit us online at
