Featured from May 16th to July 13th at Denver's largest photo gallery is Denver native and nationally renowned illustrator Jay Snellgrove.

The Opening Reception of the show is Friday May 16th from 6-9 pm, coinciding with the Artdistrict on Santa Fe Collectors Preview Night (Third Friday's). On this evening we will be having a special event of fine wine and fine art in conjunction with Cru Vin Dogs wine group, whose labels feature the dog illustrations of Jay Snellgrove.

Reed Photo-Art Gallery, located in the heart of the burgeoning and critically acclaimed Denver Artdistrict on Santa Fe, is extremely excited to bring you this exhibit of new and best-selling pastels and graphite pencil drawings from Jay Snellgrove. In the last five years, Jay's passion for illustrating dogs-influenced by his background in scientific illustration-has become his primary focus. He teamed up with Cru Vin Dogs to illustrate their wine labels, each featuring a
very special canine. Combining wine, fine art, special dogs, and worthy causes is what Cru Vin Dogs is all about. A portion of the sales of their wines helps support the Canine Companions for Independence, Morris Animal Foundation, and the Alie Foundation. At the event will be featured the newly released 2006 "Lucky" Cabernet/Merlot, and the 2006 Golden Retriever Chardonnay.

Jay is a Colorado native and Colorado State University graduate, at which he studied Illustration and Graphic Design. The extreme attention to detail and realism in his work stem from his background in scientific illustration. Jay has chosen the Giclee printing process to reproduce many of his original drawings, which will also be for sale during the exhibit. The color, detail and textural quality of our limited edition Giclees on watercolor paper best represent the original art. His work is widely regarded and several of his pieces are permanently exhibited at Invesco Stadium, home of the Denver Broncos, and at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Other credits include works commissioned by the NFL and one of the nation's leading fly fishing authors.
