Summer Group Show at Sandra Phillips Gallery
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 7/23/2008

What:
The "Summer Group Show" is a celebration of the diverse media, genres and compelling talent of the artists represented in the Sandra Phillips Gallery.

The exhibition includes paintings by Irene Delka McCray, who is part of the permanent collection at the Denver Art Museum and just received the Boulder County Arts Alliance Milash Award. Hugh Daly uses layers of color to portray the beauty of nature, as well as David Griffin, who is also greatly influenced by nature shown in his collection of realistic images. Such realism is continued in the works to be shown by Margaret Kasahara that capture her meticulous treatment of images drawn from pop culture such as her compelling Marilyn Monroe painting. Amy Solomon will show an intriguing array of landscape paintings that capture her quiet introspective approach.

Ceramics will be represented by Bebe Alexander, who is influenced by the human spirit in the form of architecture and man-made objects, as well as by Katie Caron, who is currently studying for her MFA at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
