Description: Working with Artists Flash Gallery announces the opening of its next exhibition, "Identity" on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 6 - 9 pm. Working with Artists is located at 445 S. Saulsbury, Lakewood, CO 80226 in the Belmar District.

The Identity exhibit examines the way we use photographs to remember, invent and understand ourselves. Also, how we attempt to understand other people and make judgments about who they are (or at least who they pretend to be). These images may be from childhood or recreations of childhood. They may be an expression of different personas- using ourselves as a blank canvas with which we can discuss big societal issues à la Cindy Sherman or an attempt at defining the who of you in a single image. They may be disconcerting, brutally truthful, projections, simple, elaborate, haunting or just plain gorgeous.
