ND ANNUAL LUNCHEON BEING HELD TO RAISE MONEY FORORGANIZATION HELPING ADULTS WITH INTELECTUAL/DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES FIND AHOME
Private, non-profit organization, Glory Community, is holding aluncheon with guest speaker, Steve Kelley from FOX31, to increase the awarenessregarding people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and theirdesperate need for housing
Glory Community has announced its second annualluncheon, "Glorious Home Tablescape Luncheon," being held on May 17
th,2008 at the PPA Event Center in Denver, Colo., from 11 a.m. until 1:30p.m.News anchor, Steve Kelley,from FOX31, will be speaking at the event along with an estimated 200-300 womenin attendance. Individual tickets are sold for $40. Tables of eight areavailable for hosting by individuals and organizations for $280. The deadlineto purchase tickets is April 30.
Jim and Sandy Hembd created Glory Community in 2005 topresent an option to families looking for a God-centered, family orientedcommunity for their adult son or daughter with functional intellectual/developmentaldisabilities. This project is in response to a critical need in Colorado. Currently,Colorado ranks 46
th in the nation for money spent on services forpeople with intellectual disabilities and there are over 4,300 names registeredon the waiting list for residential services. All money from the luncheon,including donations, will go towards building Glory Community.
