The Denver Bronco cheerleaders will also be signing autographs.

The 2006 Habitat Home Builders Blitz is part of a simultaneous nationwide event to take place the week of June 3, 2006.Home builders and Habitat affiliates across the country will set a new milestone in the history of affordable housing production - building 700 houses in one week and later building an additional 300 for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Locally, the Home Builder's Blitz partners are dedicating tremendous energy and resources to this worthy goal. The builders are responsible for the entire project - from funding, to planning, to building the homes.Working with suppliers and contractors, the builders are soliciting monetary donations, as well as donations of materials and labor to deliver the home at no cost to Habitat. The homes will then be sold to the families with a no-interest loan.

The generous home builders sponsoring the Blitz are:AmberHomes, Austin Signature Homes, K & D Holdings in partnership with All Trades Services, Dimensions, Inc., KZ Smith and Company, McStain Neighborhoods (two homes), Monterra Homes, New Town Builders, Palace Construction, Pulte Homes, Renaissance Homes of Colorado, Sattler Homes, Summit Chalet Properties and Wonderland Homes.

The Home Builder's Blitz will take place at Tollgate Crossing located in Aurora near E-470 and Quincy. For the first time in metro Denver, Habitat for Humanity will be building homes in a new, market-rate subdivision.A total of 54 lots were donated by an anonymous donor.Fifteen of these will be used for the Builder's Blitz. The homes will be part of a 300 home subdivision being built by New Town Builders, supplying the metro area with affordable housing along with market-rate housing.Tollgate Crossing is located in the CherryCreekSchool District giving the children of the Habitat families living in Tollgate access to excellent educational opportunities.

ABOUT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF METRO DENVER
Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is a non-profit, Christian homeownership organization that builds and sells homes to qualified, low-income families. Habitat provides a "hand up" as families in need build their homes and transform their lives. Homeowner families invest 250-500 hours of "sweat equity" labor into building their homes and purchase the homes with zero interest mortgages. All mortgage payments are reinvested to fund construction of future homes. Other funding is raised locally through individuals, faith groups, corporations, and the Habitat Home Improvement Outlets, two retail stores selling new and used home improvement items to the public. In 2005, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver was selected as the National Habitat Affiliate of the Year honoring our excellence in all areas of affiliate operations. Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver will build 43 homes in 2006 and have built 259 since our inception in 1979. Worldwide, Habitat has built 200,000 homes in more than 100 countries.
