Description:

The Boettcher Teachers Program is a dual licensure and master's degree fellowship designed to prepare a highly-skilled workforce of professional educators who make a difference in the individual lives of low-income students and communities and the schools that serve them.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about the program to faculty, staff, past and current mentors and fellows. It is designed to help those interested decide if the Boettcher Teacher Program is right for them.
The Boettcher Teacher Program was designed to help combat the frustration of being under prepared when new teachers walk into their first classroom. It is set up to match new teachers' one on one with a mentor during their residency year. Fellows work side by side with their mentor and receive a living stipend and complete their licensure requirements. They are simultaneously earning their master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver.
After they have completed their residency and earned their masters degree they begin teaching in their own classrooms. The schools districts that the Boettcher Teachers Program partners with are Adams 12 and Mapleton in the Thornton and Northglenn areas of metropolitan Denver.
