Local Car Dealer Helps Award Scholarships

Ivette Dominguez, owner of Alpine Buick Pontiac GMC, recently participated on the General Motors Minority Dealers Association (GMMDA) Scholarship Committee, a group that awards deserving ethnic minority students scholarship money to further their academic careers.

The selection committee of nine GMMDA members and other representatives awarded scholarships of $2,500 each to 17 students from 15 states across the country. This year there were over 2,400 applicants from 49 states.

Ivette's dedication to the project is part of her commitment to give back to the community and encourage economic growth for minorities. Scholarship winners will be announced on Feb. 8 at the 19th Annual Scholarship and Awards banquet in San Francisco.
