Internationally-acclaimed flutist Jessica Quiñones will perform at the Community College of Aurora's (CCA) Fine Arts Building at 12:30 p.m. on October 22 (16000 E. CentreTech Parkway) as part of "Composing with the Times," a recital/lecture performance for the CCA and Aurora community.
Quiñones, a native of New Mexico who also attended school in Denver, has been playing the flute for over seventeen years. Her talent as a performing artist and teacher has taken her to many parts of the world as she has performed recitals and given flute classes in America, Scotland, England, Sweden, Japan and Cyprus. She is regarded as a highly reputable and innovative flute teacher and, in 2002, was named by the American Music Teacher National Association as one of the "Most Outstanding Studio Teachers under the age of 30." She especially enjoys working with flute students who are hearing impaired or deaf as she passionately believes that music is truly "ALL inclusive."
"Being a flute soloist and teacher is my passion and I love to share my music with audiences," Quiñones has said.
Ms. Quiñones currently resides and plays in York, England where she is the
flute instructor for York College, Ampleforth College, the Mount School, and the Bootham Junior School.
Her performance at CCA is FREE and open to the public.
