Annual festival inspires the artist within

Hundreds of area residents braved the hot weather during the 17th annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival the weekend of July 6 to 8 to see works by local and national artists, hear music and even create their own art.

This year's festival, held in the Cherry Creek North shopping district, was themed "My Art" as a way for attendees to not only view art, but experience all of its forms through music, dance, food and hands-on activities. New to the festival this year was a fireworks show July 7 and an Australian Sway Pole art performance at the Fillmore Plaza throughout the weekend.
