ASLA Colorado award-winning entries on display at Independence Plaza and Denver Public Library
Award-winning landscape architecture projects from more than 20 members of The Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA Colorado) are on display at two well-known locations in Denver. The exhibit is currently on display at Independence Plaza at 1050 17th Street in Downtown Denver through March 31. Next it moves to the Denver Public Library at 10 West 14th Avenue throughout the month of April.
ASLA Colorado's annual awards competition showcases outstanding projects completed by members. Entries are judged for creativity and sustainability in the categories of professional, residential, planning and urban design. Projects include new communities, urban and historical cityscapes, streetscapes and land stewardship designations.
"ASLA Colorado members include the best landscape architects in Colorado," said
Kim Douglas, ASLA Colorado president. "Our organization honors member projects that incorporate innovative planning and design while protecting the outdoor-built environment. Winners are dedicated to making an environmentally conscious impact with their designs."
The award exhibit includes landscape renderings, plans, photographs and descriptions that bring each winner's work to life. The award exhibit is designed to educate the public about the landscape architecture profession during National Landscape Architecture Month.
"As landscape architects, it is extremely important for us to generate awareness for the importance of creating outdoor spaces that conserve water, protect the environment and increase the public's enjoyment of the outdoors," said
Courtney McRickard, ASLA Colorado board member and award recipient.
