AskDot: Mystery copper tiles at Union Station
Contributed by: Dot the Dog on 12/8/2006

I work in the Gates HQ building at 15th and Wewatta in LoDo and I and my workmates have been watching the new roof being put on top of Union Station.

We have a question we hope that some of your investigative reporters can answer. If you look at the new black tiles being applied to the West end of the roof top you will notice that on the bottom 5 or 6 rows of the tiles that there are evenly spaced small copper or orange colored strips of material about the size of dollar bills around the bottom perimeter of the roof.

Do you know what these strips are and what their purpose is?

Inquisitive in LoDo,

Richard Egan
