Dear Dot, I have lived in Park Hill for nearly 14 years. For nearly all of them a pair of "ladies" have lived next door. They are not the most friendly of people, in fact, I would call them misanthropic. However, they have not lived in the house for almost two years( a good thing in most respects) so the house is basically vacant.
One of the "ladies" occasionally stops by long enough to mow the weeds every couple of weeks so it probably couldn't officially be labeled an eyesore. This past weekend I noticed some edging that I had recently put in at my sidewalk was bent over so I went over to straighten it out at which, or should I say "witch" time she leers over at me and utters "that little fence is on my property and you know it". It clearly is not on her property, however. Is there a relatively simple yet authoritative way to put this quickly to rest?
Also, is there anything at all that I can do about this house being vacant? Believe me, I just try to ignore the situation but an empty house can attract and cause some unsavory things. Park Hill is a neighborhood that has sky-rocketed as far as property values are concerned so it makes little sense to me that it hasn't been sold.
Help me, please, Matt Bradford
