Baby Buds, a ministry to single mom's in the inner city, operating as a thrift store with job training/life skills development program for single mothers has lost it's lease.Baby Buds sells donated children's clothing and other products to support women coming out of domestic violence, mental abuse, drug and alcohol abuse and other undesirable societal situations. For the past six years the program made it's home at 12332 East Colfax, a donated space across from Fitzsimmons in Aurora. This property is now being demolished and redevloped...causing Baby Buds to seek out a new retail space.
Baby Buds finds itself with a store load of productscurrently in donated storage unit until a new store front location can be found. During this interim, the many women who depend upon the services of Baby Buds are without direct support and there is no income from the sales of children's clothing and baby equipment..
Baby Buds was begunsix years ago ,affiliates of Bud'sWarehouse/Belay Enterprise, a charitable organization. Baby Bud's is aministry program directed at individual uniqueness and background. Women can come in off the street, or referred from other agencies and apply for assistance.
Unlike other organizations, Baby Buds is a hand up rather than a hand out. Participants receive job readiness/ training, counseling, support.. A large percentage of these womenare single moms who can access, among a great many other services, GED/parenting skills through Baby Buds. There is also a focus on community service offering gently used, affordable baby clothing/goods. Baby Bud's works directly with other ministries as Open Door Fellowship, Providence Network.
Dianne Sager, Director of Baby Buds and Cathy Martinez, Director of Freedom Cleaning are grateful to the community for their support.
Now, we are asking for help from the community to network and find suitable retail space or financial donations to be used toward rent, utilities, cleaning supplies for our cleaning business and prayers.
