The Learning Source for Adults and Families, a local nonprofit organization working to educate Denver metro adults and families, is in need of volunteer tutors for its adult classes in Aurora and at the Denver County Jail. Areas of instruction are reading, writing, math and GED preparation, and no prior teaching experience is required.
Evening orientation and training sessions for volunteer tutors are scheduled on Monday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 11 at the Community College of Aurora, Lowry Campus. For more information on session times and directions, contact Tom Oatts, volunteer recruiter, at

"We continue to see increased demand for our classes," explains Susan Lythgoe, executive director of The Learning Source. "We especially need volunteers who are available for classes in the Aurora area."
Established in 1964, The Learning Source (coloradoliteracy.org) is located at 455 S. Pierce in Lakewood and operates 26 literacy programs at 16 locations throughout the Denver metro area.
