Gentle Touch
Contributed by: Robert Richard on 12/24/2007

If I could kiss away your tear
If I could kiss away your hurt
If I could kiss away your fear

Then I would gladly do this for you

If I could kiss away your fright
hold your hand with all my might
assure you during dangerous throes
life is not all buttons and bows

Then might a courage we gain
to know of touch, that
our tears may subside
our hurts diminish
our fear reinforced can be held at bay
and that we can touch others
the same gentle way

If I could kiss away your pain
If I could kiss away your sorrow

Then I would gladly do this for you

Today and for all our tommorrows

Very sweet and simply stated. A lovely poem, with hints of sadness and longing.
