It's never who you think it is....
I was just thinking today about Motherhood and friends. And how life goes along and you do the best you can to take care of yourself and your family and try to maintain a relationship with your immediate friends and how sometimes that is all you have time for. But I was also thinking about, in my life, how important it has been to consider others. That the kid who comes to play to keep
your kid entertained so
you can get something done, may be going thru some tough times. And how kids are kids and they are growing and learning and developing and there is goodness in all of them. And if you don't mind them playing in your house with yourkid, then you should also not mind taking a minute to consider that kid. Is he/she having a good day or bad day and what can you do to make a difference for him/her or even her mom. Mom's have a lot on their plates now days. Whether you stay home or work. I was appalled at a show I was watching that featured motherhood and what was the better choice...staying home with your kids or working? Come on, sometimes it's not a choice. And neither option is "better". Just feel blessed if you are doing what you want to be doing. If you want to stay home and you're staying home, feel lucky. If you want to work and you are working, feel lucky. I promise you that when something "rocks" your world, whether it's a death of a parent, loss of a job, trouble with teens, divorce....there are too many possibilities to count, it won't be the person you expect that will make a difference to you. It will be the one you least expect. Often it's the one you didn't have time to get to know or the one you actually were a little jealous of because their life seems better than yours. It will happen to all of us. We will need someone to reach out to us to help us thru some unexpected turn of events and when you are in that situation, it humbles you. And it makes you realize that maybe we should be a little nicer to each other. Maybe we should try to wear someone else's shoes for awhile. No competition, just empathy and love and understanding. That is what makes the world go round.
