The Soft, White Underbelly of American Politics
By Stan Dyer
When I began my letter writing campaign, I seriously thought I had an idea of what I would uncover. I believed there would be many similar candidates with varying degrees of the same ideas who were gifted in their abilities to present their points of view in a palatable and politically correct form. Barely one month into the campaign, and I have to report I was wrong.
Going over the list of "other" candidates for the upcoming presidential election, I came across a man named Jackson Kirk Grimes of Elkton, Maryland who is the candidate for president from the
United Fascist Union. A fascist in America? How can that be? Then I remembered the world of 1930.
In the 1930's, the whole world was in trouble. Japan wanted to imperialize the South Pacific and invaded Manchuria, Benito Mussolini wanted to re-establish the Roman Empire and invaded Ethiopia, and Adolph Hitler wanted to regain lands he felt the Germans illegally lost at the end of World War I. In America, the country had its hands full with the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and a government that didn't seem to be working. People don't realize it now, but ideas about Socialism and Communism were very popular in the 1930's, and only lost their appeal after World War II when Joseph Stalin put up the Iron Curtain. But that's all just history now, right? Wrong. Meet Mr. Jackson Kirk Grimes, fascist candidate for president.
Mr. Grimes is the 56-year-old activist, actor and stockbroker who has been a fascist since 1967. If elected, Mr. Grimes wants to eliminate paper money and use "cards" something like rechargeable credit cards, establish a "Universal Price Index" while freezing the costs of necessities, and establish a League of Nations comprised of nine or ten countries to rule the world in a global government. None of these ideas is either new or creative, so I decided to write his campaign headquarters for clarification. The letter sent to Mr. Grimes was similar to the letter sent to all officials and candidates, covering the areas of Democracy and Human Rights. Here is Mr. Grimes' reply:
"As Fascists we believe in the Dictatorship Principle as outlined in the
Constitution of ancient Rome not, a tyranny like Bush & Co. have been
inclined to, since they staged the 9/ll hoax. As we understand history,
Burr & Co. penned the US Constitution over the objections of the masses and
forced it on the public. The US Consitution is constantly being raped by
those in positions of power and is meaningless. Human rights too, are
constantly being violated by the power elite who run the defacto government
in Washington DC. The strip searches of American women at airports by
Bush's goons is a great concern to the United Fascist Union, also the Feds
obsession with where people live and the movement of money and goods within
the nation-state.
Fascist is probably the most misunderstood word in common use today.
Fascism is CORPORATE STATISM a.k.a. "National Socialism", a radical form of
socialism created by the turn of the century statesman, Benito Mussolini.
Benito Mussolini coined the term National Socialism to distiguish the
faction he led from the Marxists, who were anti-monarchy and anti-war.
Basically, Il Duce, was saying we're still socialists but we support King &
Country in this war (WW1). Because of the perversion the Germans made of
the term prior to and, during the Second World War, the great Arab Fascist,
Saddam Hussein, said in his "Epistle To The OPEC Trading Nations" we
shouldn't use this term anymore and instead, Fascism should be defined as
CONSERVATIVE SOCIALISM. In an attempt to obey the directives of Saddam
Hussein the U.F.U. concurs with his will.
Hitler was NOT a Fascist. In the early days of the D.A.P. the Nazi's
adopted the term National Socialism is capitalize on Benito Mussolini's
rising popularity throughout Europe and around the world. The Germans made a
sickening thing of the N.S.D.A.P. corrupting the human mind with
anti-semitism and other forms of bigotry that eventually led to the
holocaust. The Canadian Parliamentary System is superior to the American
republic and, much better than the German democracy of the 1920's. You need
a checks and balances system that will put a stop to people like Hitler &
baby Bush before they get to a despotic position. This is a dangerous
position America is in now, the Bush baddies slipped legislation similar to
the Emergency Powers Act Hitler used, one more hoax like 9/11/01 and the
defacto regime will suspend future elections and enslave us all.
With Fascism we can create "ECONOMIC EQUALITY" for all Americans. Without
economic equality all the talk about racial equality, sexual equality, etc.
& etc. is meaningless. With Fascism we can build something good and lasting
together, without Fascism, America is going to self destruct!
Vote Fascist 2008!"

Well, there you have it. Wow! Aside from errors in both grammar and punctuation, and a number of historical inaccuracies, Mr. Grimes' statement is to the point, passionate, and very, very scary. The scary part is that there are people out there, in this country, who believe as Mr. Grimes does. Enough of those people, banded together, could cause a lot of turmoil in this country. Such a situation happened before and almost happened in the 1930's.
In the 1930's, The Great Depression had people looking elsewhere for answers and a number of extreme candidates, (such as Huey Long), came into prominence. People lost faith in their government that didn't seem to be working. If today's economy were to crash and if enough people lost faith in our present system, there are people out there like Jackson Kirk Grimes ready and willing to step in. And, what if he increased his political savvy so that he presented himself in a more palatable manner, but kept his same feelings hidden until it was too late? It happened all over the world in the 1930's and could happen again. That is why every vote counts and why everyone who is eligible needs to register, learn about the candidates, and exercise the franchise.
