Quarters for Kids kicks off 16 years
Contributed by: Jim White on 4/10/2006

The idea of children helping children just makes good sense.

This is why Quarters for Kids has been able to be so successful for over 15 years. It provides a win/win situation with students helping less fortunate kids while gaining leadership skills, knowledge about philanthropy and charity and allowing them to be creative and have fun all at the same time.

Students think up creative ways to raise quarters and 100% of what they raise goes to the breakfast programs at the Samaritan House for the homeless and the Volunteers of America Brandon Center for battered women and their children.

April is Quarters for Kids month and the whole project ends with a "Victory Breakfast" at Strings restaurant on May 1, 2006.

There is still plenty of time for your school or your student to participate, call 303-370-0070 for more information or go to www.quartersforkids.com.
