CCA to Host Tuskegee Airmen for BHM Celebration
Contributed by: Tracy Williams on 2/24/2008

Several of the original Tuskegee Airmen will visit the Community College of Aurora (CCA) on Wednesday, February 27 as part of CCA's Black History Month celebration.

More than 200 are expected to attend the event celebrating the Tuskegee Airmen, who broke racial stereotypes when they flew 15,000 sorties over North Africa and Europe during World War II. They were the nation's first African American pilots and received (among many other accolades) the Congressional Gold Medal at the White house in 2007.

Col. Fitzroy "Buck" Newsum, Lt. Col. James Harvey III and Col. John Mosley will speak about their experiences and answer questions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27th in CCA's CentreTech campus in the Student Center Rotunda.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will also be served.

For more information, please contact Misty Schroeder in CCA's Office of Student Life at 303.360.4726, or misty.schroeder@ccaurora.edu.
