John F. Kennedy High School is proud to announce that they have been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the prestigious Diploma Programme. Kennedy is now the second high school in Denver to offer this challenging, two-year program, known for its demanding curriculum and global outlook, and is the only school in Denver to offer an authorized IB education for all grade levels.

Kennedy is accepting applications from current 10 th grade students who want to participate in this challenging and rewarding program. Parents and students are also encouraged to attend Kennedy's Prospective Student Night on January 15 th, 2008 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

The IB experience has been endorsed by federal officials as a rigorous academic program and helps students excel on Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) tests, as well as national exams such as the SAT and ACT. Data shows that rigorous coursework is a predictor of later success. A study by the National Center for Education Statistics found that students who enrolled in IB courses were more prepared for college, earned higher first-year GPAs in college and had a higher college graduation rate. This was true for all ethnic groups and socioeconomic levels.

Acceptance rates to universities world-wide are much higher for students who receive an IB diploma. In addition, most universities offer IB graduates college credit. In fact, students who graduate with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma receive a minimum of 24 hours of college credit from any state funded college or university in the State of Colorado.
