Lakewood, Colorado - Colorado Christian University (CCU) recently announced the promotion of Tamara Brod to the position of Associate Professor of Economics and Public Affairs. The change will take effect July 1, 2007. Making the announcement was Dr. Cherri Parks, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
"Tamara is one of our most charismatic faculty members," Parks stated. "She is energetic and passionate about what she teaches; she moves students to think."
Brod brings nearly 20 years of corporate and small business management, marketing, and sales experience to the classroom, providing students with practical knowledge to accompany theory.
"Tamara Brod is great-an excellent teacher and strong scholar who brings outstanding private sector experience to the classroom," commented CCU President Bill Armstrong. "Her knowledge and enthusiasm are an inspiration to students."
After receiving her bachelor's degree with honors from Fort Lewis College (1983), Brod later earned an MBA in Economics from Westminster College (1994) and is currently working on a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Colorado-Denver. Her doctoral work centers on the economic consequences of unsuccessful policy implementation as it relates to wage inequity, corruption, and government structures.
Brod instructs graduate and undergraduate-level economics, marketing, and statistics classes at CCU. She also instructs and guides classes abroad in international business and marketing. Her role in the University's graduate business programs has increased enrollment by 30 percent over the past three years. She has also developed and instructed a graduate level class, "Economics and Public Finance," for CU-Denver and recently spoke at the International Academy of Management and Business, where she presented a paper on voluntary environmental programs and issues regarding governmental regulation.
A dynamic lecturer in subjects that include economics, international business, and marketing principals, Ms. Brod is dedicated to developing students into community leaders who value strong ethics and a love for learning. She has been recognized by CCU's University Business Student Society as the Business School Faculty Member of the Year for the past two years.
Tamara and her husband Mike recently adopted a daughter, Hannah. They enjoy traveling, fishing, reading, and visiting with family.
