Aurora City Council Member Renie Peterson presented Hinkley High School teacher Christine Sundberg with an Amazing Auroran award.

Peterson selected Sundberg for adding value to school with her teaching and the $10,000 grant awarded to Hinkley High School in her honor as the 2007 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year for Colorado. Sundberg teaches several International Baccalaureate World History classes, an African Studies class and a U.S. History class. She helped organize the Landmine Task Force that has raised more than $31,000 for the United Nations Landmine Initiative, through the Adopt-a-Minefield campaign.
