Comparing his comedy to a mix between Dennis Leary and Dennis Miller, my favorite comedian Jimmy Shubert creates hysterical jokes from an observational point of view, in short-story form, often making fun of current events. Discovering magic by the age of ten Shubert always knew entertainment was just for him. While in high school at a performance arts school he knew his true calling was in the comedy and film business. Which, he pursued right out of the gate, landing a job at a premier comedy club in LA, where he worked his way to becoming a headliner, never looking back. You may recognize him as the lollipop-licking club bouncer in the 1999 film
Go. Since then, his film career has taken off, with roles in
Coyote Ugly,
Mr. and Mrs. Smith, One Hour Photo, starring comedian Robin Williams, and
The Italian Job. In television, Shubert also has a recurring role on the CBS comedy
The King of Queens, not to mention roles on ER, Lucky, Monk, Secret Service Guy and many others. Recently Shubert returned home from a tour over seas with television star Drew Carey on a mission to entertain our troops, which was highly successful.
Starting with writing acts for other top comedians, to a most recognizable face in the entertainment business today, join me for some chuckles when Jimmy Shubert performs live at Comedy Works on Thursday September 20 th at 8:00pm, Friday September 21 st at 8:00 and 10:00 pm, Saturday September 22 nd at 6:30pm, 8:30pm, and 10:30pm, and Sunday September 23 rd at 8:00pm.
