The Sunny and Cher(i) Show
came to the
Denver Athletic Club
,1325 Glenarm Street, where child care is offered to its members. Amenities for the children include an eight-lane pool, sundeck for water play, full-sized gym and inflatable castles. In addition, swimming, ballet and gymnastic instructors are on staff for lessons.
The Sunny and Cher(i) Show
was one of a number of celebratory events. The entertainers did two shows, one for the toddler group and one for Pre-K to 6 years old. The entertainers, Sunny Marie Hackman and Cheri Seeton, targeted the specific ages and abilities of each group. The toddlers delighted in the simplicity of animal noises and eagerly participated by wearing the animal costumes, while the older group, 3 to 6 years old, enjoyed a more sophisticated version where "Moonique," the cow, loses her
moo
and sounds like an elephant, frog and dog until the chicken coughs up the
moo,
along with a mouth coil -- much to the audience's amazement.
The children of both groups participated in the magic tricks as assistants and watched as performer, Cheri Seeton, did a reverse clown technique. "We find so many todddlers and preschoolers are frightened by clowns," commented entertainer, Cheri Seeton," and we show in story form a fun and engaging way how one becomes a clown." At the conclusion of the show, one little girl said, "You guys are funny." Sunny Marie Hackman responded, "That's all it takes to make us a success." The two quickly accommodated the group with an encore of their favorite magic trick -- the needle through the balloon. Then the entertainers took their bow.
