Wearing O' The Green!!!
Contributed by: SM Merchant on 3/18/2008

The Uptown Health Care Center, 745 E. 18th Ave, put on a St. Patrick's Day celebration to rival any parade! The Uptown Health Care Center residents joined two area performers, Sunny Marie Hackman and Cheri Seeton of the Sunny and Cher(i) Show, in storytelling, comedy sketches (complete with costumes) and singing. Magic tricks and balloon artistry by the two vaudeville jokesters created suspense and an element of surprise throughout the show for everyone in the audience. The entertainers theme their show and target the audiences' ages and abilities -- preschool through 100+.

The performers drew four names out of a leprechaun's hat to find the lucky winners of the door prizes. Refreshments included green beer, lime sherbert punch, chips, dips and a shamrock cookie. The staff worked hard to bring a bit of Ireland to the ones they care for everyday.

One of the workers gave Cheri a hug and whispered, "They just loved you guys." "That's why we do what we do," exclaimed Sunny Marie. Memorable days always vibrate with imagination, and everyone at Uptown Health Care Center had a day to remember -- wearing o' the green.
