Idée-Force and Gourmet Fine Catering present "Haunted Hollywood" at the Parkside Mansion (
1859 York Street, Denver) on Friday, October 26.
Doors open at 8:00 p.m.; admission is $25.
Attendees are asked to dress as your favorite dead celebrity.
The mansion's party will include a "Haunted Hollywood Ball" with a DJ in the ballroom and a "Deadly Dungeon" garden area with go-go dancers, aptly named "The Bondage Babes from Hell and the Ghostly Beefcake Revue."
Guests will enjoy hosted beer, wine, and well drinks; top shelf liquor drinks will be $5.
Prizes will be awarded to the best costume wearers.
"This is a special occasion, as we have sold the mansion, so this will be the final Halloween party for us here," said Darby Donohue, co-owner of Gourmet Fine Catering. "The ParksideMansion is synonymous with events, but what most people don't know is that it's also haunted."
Originally known as the McPhee-McGinnityMansion, the ParksideMansion was constructed in 1905 by Charles McPhee, who moved to Denver in 1869.
Charles McPhee and John McGinnity began a lumber company together; the McPhee & McGinnity Company became the largest manufacturing company west of Chicago.
Today, the ParksideMansion has been the venue of choice for many brides and grooms.
While changing in the second floor "bride's room," many brides have seen a ghostly woman with beautiful long blonde hair appear in the mirror above the fireplace.
The ghost has always been friendly, but seems solemn.
The caretaker and event managers have heard classical music coming from the main ballroom and reported strange occurrences, like doors closing and lights turning on.
