Garrett Ammon's Moulin Rouge
Fake windmill. Real love.
A brand-new evening of romance, intrigue, desire, betrayal and redemption, Garrett Ammon's
Moulin Rouge is the hottest ballet ever to come out of BNC.
Created by Ammon for Valentine's Day,
Moulin Rouge brings to life the story of a young woman who falls under the Svengali-like influence of the dance master at Paris' infamous nightclub.
This new production will attract audiences with its romantic and mysterious theme, combined with Ammon's edgy choreography that is being hailed by critics across the country:
"Ammon reveals himself to be a dance-maker of invention, musicality and daring."- Marc Shulgold, Rocky Mountain News, Denver, November 2007
"Perhaps the most awesome thing I've seen in ages ... defiant, exuberant, and unbowed in its passion"- John Weeden, Weeden Arts Watch, Memphis, September 2007
Ammon moved to Colorado from Memphis, Tennessee in June, 2007 with his wife Dawn Fay to assume the artistic leadership of Ballet Nouveau Colorado. The couple starred as principal dancers with Ballet Memphis for many years, and were founding members of Trey McIntyre Project. They retired from performing in August, 2007.
The run of the show includes a
special Valentine's Day engagement at Denver's Historic Paramount Theatre.
