David Coon to Lead Seminar at Unity Boulder: Medical Qigong-The True Secret to Manifesting Your Dreams and Better Health
There is a quietly growing movement around the globe of people transforming their lives by becoming profound practitioners of Medical Qigong. Practitioner David Coon inspires individuals in both Boulder and Denver, providing individual consultation and teaching as well as leading group seminars.
David will explore the world of Medical Qigong as a guest speaker at Unity of Boulder on Sunday, August 5 during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. He will also lead an afternoon seminar from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Unity where he will explore the concepts of Medical Qigong more deeply and teach participants beginning exercises that they can easily incorporate into home practice. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased the day of the event. Day care will be provided and more information can be found at http://www.unityofboulder.com/wst_page6.html.
Coon's students learn many ancient secrets about healing themselves and/or their clients, partners and family through the practice of Medical Qigong. This form of Medical Qigong is powerful medicine and has been kept in secret circles for over five thousand years. He also teaches how to use the power of Qigong to harness the mind's positive energy to make dreams become reality-the power of the law of attraction. Coon's students learn methods to attract what their hearts desire to increase overall happiness in mind, body and spirit.
During the service, he will provide a discussion of the basics of Medical Qigong and how it can be incorporated into daily spiritual practice in order to reach ones full potential. He will also talk about the power of the mind in harnessing greater spiritual happiness. Coon utilizes the Course of Miracles in his work, and will bring these two powerful elements together during the discussion.
The afternoon seminar will cover the basics of Medical Qigong as well as a participatory demonstration of beginning Qigong exercises. Coon will demonstrate and lead the class in the techniques that can be used for self healing and healing others. All exercises are dedicated to healing the mind, body and spirit, and increasing spiritual energy necessary to accomplish life's dreams.
What is Medical Qigong?
Qi can be loosely translated as the Chinese word for energy or universal life force. Gong essentially means 'the cultivation of' so Qigong then is the cultivation of universal life force. Medical Qigong is the cultivation of life force to alleviate or prevent medical conditions ranging from bacterial infections to disease within the body and in the mind.
Qigong is also known for its profound effects on sexual potency and overall vitality. Medical Qigong can be done by a practitioner in an active exercise for self or can be cultivated by an expert practitioner and delivered to a client or patient that is ill or weak in some way Qi is a difficult concept to grasp for most people in the west because it stems from a very different perspective than allopathic medicine and is therefore seemingly less tangible. To begin to grasp the concept of Qi imagine a healthy plant, green, lush and robust with health. That plant has a lot of Qi or a lot of energy-you can see it and touch it.
If you were to go a step further you could eat it, taste it and experience its profound healing effects. A sickly looking plant on the other hand is very disconnected from the life force and therefore has very little Qi and vitality. Imagine seeing a sickly broccoli plant, it would be wilting, brown rather than green, it wouldn't taste very good nor would it be very nourishing.
Continuing further with the concept of Qi, imagine a rechargeable battery that absorbs energy from the wall socket. Once charged, that battery has the energy to fuel your flashlight and this allows the flashlight to shine brightly. In this analogy the wall socket could be compared to the earth, air and sky, the place where the Qi comes from. The current coming from the socket would be the universal life force itself (Qi) and the rechargeable battery could be likened unto the Qigong practitioner.
Someone who is skilled in the art of Qi cultivation is like the charged battery and is full of energy. Similar to a charged battery a person full of Qi is someone who has an excess supply of energy. For this person the excess energy could now be used to maintain health and vitality. Just as the battery can be used to light up a flashlight, a charged person could also deliver some of their excess energy to a person who is weak or ill. Someone who is weak or ill is like the flashlight that cannot shine until it receives a boost from the energy stored in the battery.
A Medical Qigong practitioner draws in and absorbs large amounts of energy from the ground, the air and the natural world around them. This energy is brought into the body through the breath and then specific movements are made to direct the energy flow to various parts of the body that are typically neglected.
"When I was fifteen years old I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and told by the doctors that my spine looked as though it was eighty-five years old, "said Coon. "They said that by the time I was thirty I would be severely crippled. That same year I began to practice martial arts and Medical Qigong. As the years progressed I became more and more dedicated to the practice and I completely reversed the disease."
When a practitioner of Medical Qigong becomes very proficient he/she can begin to generate an excess of Qi. That Qi can be used to heal oneself as well as to heal others. Demonstrations of Qi can also be seen in the breaking of boards, rocks and bricks as well as making a body seemingly invulnerable to all kinds of assaults of kicks, punches and other strikes. These can be seen in the martial arts applications of Qigong.
After several years of Medical Qigong practice Coon began to develop what one might call excess Qi. He began to assist others in eliminating their own health problems. He used the energy cultivated to eradicate bacterial and viral infections, dis-ease, pain, headache, backache, neck pain, gastrointestinal disorders, gynecological dysfunction, sexual impotency and much more.
Coon has taught many others the art of Medical Qigong as a personal practice as well as having taught health care practitioners to use Medical Qigong techniques in their chiropractic, acupuncture or other medical practices. Anyone can gain new awareness of life whether a healing practitioner or a member of the general public.
David J Coon has been a practitioner of Medical Qigong and martial arts for over twenty years. David currently offers seminars and lectures around the country for acupuncturists, physicians, health care practitioners and lay people desiring to heal themselves.
