The reason for my letter is as follows: My husband and I got married in July 2005 a few weeks before his completing four years of active duty in the United States Marines. He and I started our lives together outside the military life and started a family very soon giving birth to our son in July of 2006. All was well as we thought and we were enjoying our life as new parents. We abslolutely loved being married and together since our whole courtship was spent apart as Daniel was stationed in California. In March of 2007, we found out that we were pregnant with our little girl, but the day after recieving that wonderful news we recieved the biggest shock we could imagine. My husband Daniel recieved presidential orders to return to active duty and would inevitably be returning to Iraq for a third deployment. He was to report to San Diego in Oct. 2007.
In Feb. 2008 the kids and I were able to visit him for the week leading up to his deployment. The day he left I felt like my whole world was crashing down on me. My husband, my best friend, my everything was going to a dangerous place and there was nothing I could do to stop him.
The kids and I are doing well. Taking it one day at a time, we miss him so much and our son talks about his daddy all the time. Daniel will be returning in Sept. and I am planning to be there in San Diego to greet him when he returnes from Iraq. Also, when he comes home to Colorado, I want to have a nice welcome home party for him. Then, Daniel wants the two of us to go on the honeymoon we never had in Las Vegas, NV. I have never been there so we thought it would be a good place to rekindle our marraige after a year of distance.
Well, Im not sure if you guys know, but the military doesnt pay the best, especially for our men and women risking their lives at war. I really need some ideas of how I can do some fundraising so that I can pay for the trips and my husbands well deserved party. Any advice or helpwould be really appreciated.
Thank you so much for taking time to read my letter,
Bianca Montez
