Historic Denver - Don't miss Historic Denver's 35th Annual House Tour which takes place on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Denver's historic Country Club Neighborhood.

"We are very excited about the 2008 House Tour," Steve Turner, Executive Director of Historic Denver said. "For the first time in decades, we're hosting a Spring Tour. This is a wonderful opportunity for Historic Denver to showcase the Country Club neighborhood's architectural heritage which is an ideal example of historic homes being a perfect fit for our modern lives."

This tour features a variety of architectural styles including Mid-Century Modern, Tudor, Craftsman Four Square and Colonial Revival as well as stunning interiors and unforgettable outdoor spaces. The tour begins at The Church of the Ascension at 600 Gilpin Street.

The historic Country Club neighborhood is located just west of the fashionable Cherry Creek shopping center and extends from Speer Boulevard north to 6th Avenue and from Downing Street east to Oak Street. The heart of the Country Club area is Country Club Place. It is a subdivision between Franklin and Race Streets originally designed by William and Arthur Fisher who worked with prominent Boston architect, Frederic Law Olmsted Jr. in 1909. Only 380 homes comprise this magnificent neighborhood.

Local artist Barbara Froula created an original watercolor that has been printed for the 2008 Historic Denver House Tour. Posters and greeting cards will be available for purchase at the house tour check-in at The Church of the Ascension and Froula will be on hand to sign posters on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Volunteers are still needed for the house tour and will receive a free house tour ticket and event t-shirt in exchange for volunteering a few hours of time. Call Historic Denver at 720-891-4952 for more information and the volunteer training schedule.

The 35 th Annual Historic Denver House Tour runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 and from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2008.
