"Nifty" Is Turning 50

Russ Markowski's grandpa thought he was such a cute baby that he called him by the nickname of "Nifty." In addition to being the apple of his grandpa's eye, he enjoyed the perks of being the youngest of 4
children. "We were never allowed to have a dog," remembers sister Marilyn, "but when 'Nifty' asked for one, he got a puppy."

Russ left West Allis, Wisconsin for Colorado in 1980 for a job in graphic design and good fortune followed him. In 1991, he married Mary Lou who thinks he is still cute and "Nifty."
