Police blotter: Man robbed on 16th Street mall

PUNCHED, ROBBED ON THE MALL
Police investigated an aggravated robbery reported about 5 p.m. April 21. A 21-year-old Denver man told police he walked up to his girlfriend who was with an 18-year-old Aurora man on the 800 block of 16th Street about 4:50 p.m. The Aurora man allegedly punched the Denver man in the face and he fell to the ground unconscious. While on the ground, the suspect and a second unidentified suspect alleged went through the Denver man's pockets and stole $12 in currency and a bottle of malt liquor. The two suspects and the female fled on the 16th Street mall shuttle after the attack, the report stated.

MAN PICKPOCKETED ON ELEVATOR
A Littleton man told police he was pickpocketed while riding an elevator at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital garage, 1719 E. 19th Ave. about 11:15 a.m. April 23. The man said while he was carrying his wife's possessions, a black man about 35 years old, wearing some type of badge or ID, dropped his cell phone to the floor between his legs, and then asked him to remain still while he retrieved it at the same time blocking the elevator door. The stolen wallet contained a small amount of cash, but unauthorized charges estimated at about $8,000 were made at several stores in a short amount of time right after the theft according to the report.

COMPUTER, PLAYSTATIONS STOLEN
A Westminster man reported the theft of a laptop computer and three Playstations valued from $2,100 from the Tivoli Turnhalle, 900 Auraria Parkway on April 19. The equipment was left unattended between 7 and 8:15 p.m. according to a report.

GOLF CLUBS STOLEN FROM CAR
A Denver man reported a set of golf clubs was stolen in the break-in of his car parked on the 1200 block of Downing Street on April 20. Between 5 p.m. April 19 and noon April 20, someone unlocked a door through a partially open window and stole CDs, an iPod and the golf clubs and bag. The loss was estimated at $2,295

HOSPITAL COMPUTER STOLEN
A Denver man reported the break-in of his 2007 Kia Sportage parked near the intersection of Madison Street and Bayaud Avenue on April 17. Between 6 and 8:30 p.m., someone broke a passenger window and stole a laptop computer owned by Children's Hospital. The computer was valued at $4,000. There was no indication whether the computer contained any sensitive files.

STEREO STOLEN FROM JEEP
A resident of the 1300 block of Forest Street reported the break-in of his 2003 Jeep Wrangler on April 17. Between 9 p.m. April 16 and 10 a.m. April 17, someone ransacked the interior and stole laptop computer and case, CDs, radio faceplate and a jacket valued at a total of $1,250.

CAR BREAK-IN REPORTED
A Denver woman reported her 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier was broken into between 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. April 18, while parked on the 1300 block of First St. A co-worker told the woman her car truck was open and items from the car scattered on the ground. The owner found a window had been jimmied open and a stereo CD player, amplifier and speakers stolen. The loss was estimated at $700.

SUV BREAK-IN REPORTED
A laptop computer valued at $2,000 was stolen in the break-in of a Denver man's 2000 Nissan Xterra parked on the 1800 block of Curtis Street on April 18. Between 6:30 and 7:30a.m., someone broke a rear passenger window and took the computer.

ELECTRONICS, SUNGLASSES STOLEN
A Westminster man reported the break-in of his 2000 Jeep Cherokee parked at the intersection of 20th and Market Streets April 19. Between 8:30 p.m. April 18 and 2 a.m. April 19, someone forced a door lock open and stole electronics and sunglasses valued at $1,265.

LARCENY ON LARIMER REPORTED
An Aurora man reported the break-in of his 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche parked on the 1900 block of Larimer Street on April 19. Someone broke a side window between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. and stole a GPS system, radar detector, stereo headset and cell phone charger, valued at $1,425. Damage to the window and a side view mirror was estimated at $800.

LAPTOP STOLEN FROM JEEP
A Pueblo woman reported the break-in of her 2007 Jeep Liberty parked in the basement of the Curtis Hotel, 1300 Curtis St., on April 17. Between 5 and 9 p.m., someone broke a front passenger window and stole a laptop computer valued at $1,100. Damage was estimated at $200.
