MAN BEATS EX, ABUSES CAT
Police arrested a 27-year-old Denver man on suspicion of domestic violence and animal cruelty after an incident at about 10 p.m. June 29, according to reports. Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on the 1200 block of North Verbena Street. There, a 28-year-old woman told them her ex-boyfriend had punched her in the face during an argument, took her cat and threw it into a wall, and then carried it outside and dangled it over a fence, where a neighboring dog bit its leg. Police said the woman was treated on the scene by Denver Health paramedics. The cat was taken to Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. The suspect was taken into custody when police found him intoxicated on the 1400 block of Willow Street.
MAN'S EAR SEVERED AFTER DOOR SLAM
Police arrested a 27-year-old man and his 39-year-old sister on suspicion of attacking the man's 26-year-old girlfriend, according to reports. At about 2:30 a.m. June 26, police responded to a residence on the 3600 block of Olive Street, where the three live. Police said the two suspects had hit the woman for coming in late. When she escaped, she reportedly slammed the door shut on the man's ear, severing part of it. Police arrested the two on suspicion of assault.
SUSPECT SOUGHT FOR ASSAULTING DELIVERY DRIVER
A Denver man in his mid-30s is the suspect in an aggravated assault case after police said a fight with a 51-year-old UPS driver had left him injured. According to reports, the suspect entered the man's truck on the 2200 block of Market Street and confronted the driver. When the driver attempted to remove him, the suspect reportedly attacked the man and, during the altercation, the two fell out of the truck, injuring the driver.
WOMAN BEATEN, ROBBED
A 24-year-old woman was robbed on the 1400 block of East 18th Avenue at about 11:50 p.m. June 30, according to police reports. Police say the woman was shoved off her bike by an unknown suspect who took her purse, hit her multiple times with a pistol and fled on foot westbound on East 18th Avenue.
