POLICE IMPERSONATOR DOES FAKE INVESTIGATION
An 18-year-old woman's vehicle was damaged in a hit-and-run accident while parked at Gates Crescent Park on the 2000 block of Children's Museum Drive some time between 6:30 and 7 a.m. July 15, according to police reports. Police said that she saw an unknown man in a blue uniform on a nearby park bench and asked if the man was a security guard. The man reportedly falsely identified himself as a Denver Police officer, pretended to investigate the scene and had the woman fill out a form with her name and contact information, before leaving in his car.
BURGLAR TAKES GALLERY'S COMPUTER
An unknown suspect broke into the C.C. Opiela Gallery, 840 Santa Fe Drive, at about 6:45 a.m. July 15, according to police reports. Police say the suspect kicked in a back door, entered the building and left with a computer.
MAN ATTACKED FROM BEHIND, ROBBED
An 18-year-old man was robbed by two unknown male suspects at about 10:20 a.m. July 16, in an alley along the 1400 block of Clarkson Street, according to police reports. Police say the man was approached from behind and hit over the head with a pistol. While he was knocked over, one of the two suspects took the man's possessions. The suspects reportedly fled on foot, but turned and gave chase when they saw the man running. Police said he made it to East 10th Avenue and Lafayette Street, where he asked a citizen to call for help.
MAN BEATEN IN APARTMENT
A 52-year-old man was beaten in his apartment building on the 1900 block of Arapahoe Street at about 7 p.m. July 14, according to police reports. Police say the man was on his way to visit a friend in another apartment when he passed the suspect in a hall and greeted the suspect's girlfriend. The suspect reportedly beat him and kicked him while he was down. Police said the man suffered a broken nose, torn cartilage in his shoulders and a concussion.
