Armed man holds up restaurant
On Sept. 1 at 9:51 p.m., police responded to Dairy Queen, 2905 W. Alameda Ave., on a robbery report. Police said an unknown suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the business and pulled out a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the register and later fled westbound on Alameda Avenue.
Employee steals $2,000 in money orders
On Sept. 1 at 10:45 a.m., police responded to Safeway, 757 E. 20th Ave., on a theft report. Police spoke with a male security investment employee who said a 35-year-old female clerk used another employee's pin number to print four money orders totaling $2,000.
Business' windows broken
On Aug. 31 at 10:11 p.m., police responded to Davis Wince Architecture, 1756 Platte St., on a criminal mischief report. A police investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) broke the front windows of the business with a rock. No suspects or witnesses were in the area.
TV, video equipment stolen
On Sept. 1 at 12:14 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Pennsylvania Street on a burglary report. A police investigation revealed sometime between 10 and 10:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a home by removing a screen from an open window. They stole TVs and video equipment from the living room and fled in an unknown direction.
Man's car window smashed
On Sept. 2 at at 12:29 a.m., police responded to the 3200 block of West Avondale Drive on a criminal mischief report. Police spoke with a 52-year-old man who said unknown suspects smashed the passenger side window of his vehicle.
