Shots fired at house while residents asleep
At 8:05 a.m. Sept. 16, police responded to the 5300 block of East 35th Avenue on a report of a weapon being fired into a residence. Police spoke with a 59-year-old woman and 18-year-old man who said they were asleep when unknown suspect(s) shot a firearm at their house. The bullets struck the doors, and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Man beaten with tire iron
At 9:18 p.m. Sept. 12, police responded to the 900 block of South Newton Street on an aggravated assault report. Police spoke with a 26-year-old man who said he confronted a 35-year-old man while he was attempting to break into his vehicle. The suspect hit him with a tire iron, causing lacerations and fractured nose. The suspect then left the scene. The man was transported to Denver Health for treatment.

Homeless warned about making fire
At 8:05 p.m. Sept. 15, police responded to the 100 block of West Iowa Avenue on a fire report. Police said firefighters witnessed four homeless individuals start a fire in a small field next to their makeshift tent. The group said the fire was to keep them warm. Authorities issued a warning to the group.

Man threatened outside office
At 2:20 p.m. Sept. 10, police responded to Denver Health, 990 Bannock St., on a threat report. Police spoke with a 20-year-old man who said a Hispanic man between the ages of 30 to 49 approached him outside his office building and began yelling at him. After making threats, the suspect fled the scene. The case is still under investigation.

Thieves leave booty in basement
At 3:17 p.m. Sept. 11, police responded to the 12900 block of East 46th Avenue on a burglary report. Police investigation revealed between noon and 1:30 p.m. that day, suspect(s) broke into a house through a basement window. They attempted to steal copper piping, but left the item in a sleeping bag on the floor.

House ransacked
At 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11, police responded to the 800 block of South Dale Court on a burglary report. Police investigation revealed between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day, suspect(s) broke into a house through a kitchen window. Items were taken from the bedroom and living room.

DVDs stolen from home
At 2:42 p.m. Sept. 13, police responded to the 1300 block of South Umatilla Street on a burglary report. Police investigation revealed between 2 p.m. Sept. 12 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13, suspect(s) kicked in the side shed door of a house and stole 80 DVDs.

Suspects can't break lock
At 10:25 a.m. Sept. 15, police responded to the 1700 block of West 13th Avenue on a criminal mischief report. Police investigation revealed between 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 and 6 a.m. Sept. 15, suspect(s) climbed a metal fence of a property and attempted to break the lock to a power generator. After failing to do so, they left in an unknown direction.

Tires slashed in business' parking lot
At 7:15 p.m. Sept. 15, police responded to Aspen Distribution, 11075 E. 40th Ave., on a criminal mischief report. Police investigation revealed between 6 and 6:15 p.m. that day, suspect(s) slashed the passenger side tires of a vehicle while it was parked in the business' parking lot.

Woman's window broken
At 1:50 a.m. Sept. 15, police responded to the 4400 block of Winona Court on a criminal mischief report. Police spoke with a 60-year-old woman who said between 7 and 8 p.m. Sept. 14 suspect(s) broke her front passenger side window with an unknown object.
