SHOWCASE YOUR ASIAN WARES AND CULINARY SKILLS

CALLING ALL ARTISTS OF UNIQUE ASIAN WARES AND CULINARY DELIGHTS
Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Announces Call for Marketplace

Whether you are an artisan of culinary creations, woodworking wonders, awe-inspiring art, or decadent home décor, the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival seeks your participation in its 8th annual two-day event that draws more than 100,000 ethnically diverse and well-educated attendees.

From retail shops, restaurants and artisans, to non-profit organizations and corporations, interested vendors can apply for booth space at the 2008 Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF). The CDBF's goal is to offer a wide variety of foods and marketplace wares to attendees, while providing a profitable and enjoyable experience for vendors. The CDBF prides itself on running a highly organized, family-friendly annual festival.

Celebrating its 8th year, the CDBF is a free family-friendly festival highlighting Colorado's rich Asian Pacific American heritage, July 26-27 at Sloan's Lake Park in northwest Denver. The two-day celebration provides a window to the Pan Asian world. This diverse festival is the only one of its kind in the United States, and showcases an array of traditional and contemporary performing arts, cultural customs, cuisine and a marketplace of unique and hard-to-find arts, crafts and vendors. This year, the CDBF will host the 2008 American Dragon Boat Association Regional Races, bringing national and international dragon boat teams together to compete in division races on both days.

For those interested in becoming a food vendor or exhibitor, the 2008 CDBF selection committee will evaluate and select applicants based on appropriateness to the festival mission, development of a diverse Marketplace, past history of festival participation, and adherence to regulations set by the state, city and the festival committee. Exhibitors must offer Asian-related products or services to participate in the event. Commercial booth space information is available by contacting Creative Strategies Group at 303-469-7500 or www.csg-sponsorship.com.

The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival is passionate about taking a proactive and committed stance pertaining to environmentally sound practices by utilizing recycled materials wherever possible and to minimize non-recyclable waste generated by the event. All food vendors are asked to participate in this program, and more information can be found by visiting www.cdbf.org.

For non-profit organizations, a copy of 501(c)3 is required and the booth must include an activity to engage the public. Both non-profit and for-profit exhibitors' fees include enthusiastic volunteers specifically assigned to assist in the Marketplace area prior to and during the Festival, two prominent ATM machines in the Marketplace area, and festival staff dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience.

Application deadline for food and exhibitor vendors is April 4, 2008. For more information on vendor requirements, terms and fees, mandatory meetings, or to apply online please visit www.cdbf.org or contact Marketplace Manager, Carol Hiller, at 303-282-5073.

Founded in 2001 to celebrate Colorado's diverse Asian Pacific American (APA) communities, the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (CBDF), a 501© 3 non-profit organization, has become the region's fastest growing, family-friendly summer festival. CDBF offers festival-goers the opportunity to explore APA culture through performances, educational programs, arts and crafts, shopping, dining and the exciting athletic competition of dragon boat racing. www.cdbf.org
