Enter this Poster Contest for 4th Graders!

In celebration of the Hotel Monaco Denver's 10 th anniversary and in support of the hotel's partnership with the Trust for Public Land, the two organizations have launched a poster contest for 10-year-old students in the Denver Metro area. The winning poster will be produced as notecards, which will be sold to benefit the Trust for Public Land Colorado chapter.

Contest

Create a picture of your dream park. Not a theme park, but a green park - a way for people to enjoy nature. Your park should emphasize elements of nature but can also include recreational activities.

Deadline

Entries must be received by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

Entries can be sent electronically to carrie.mann@hotelmonaco.com, or mailed or dropped off at the front desk of the Hotel Monaco Denver, attention Carrie Mann, located in downtown Denver at 1717 Champa Street, Denver, CO 80202. Entries must include name and contact information for the artist and his/her parent(s) or guardian(s).

Prizes

The winning entrant will receive a one-night stay for their family (Deluxe room with two queen beds, accommodates four people) at the Hotel Monaco Denver, valet parking for one vehicle, and dinner for four at Panzano. The winning entry will also be featured on notecards reproduced and sold online and in locations throughout Denver. Sales of notecards will benefit the Trust for Public Land.

Judging

Entries will be judged by a panel from the Hotel Monaco and the Trust for Public Land. Winners will be notified by phone no later than June 6, 2008.

Rules

  • Poster must be 11x17 or smaller in size, preferably in color.
  • Posters must be hand-drawn without the aid of computer software or clip art.
  • Paint, pencils, pens, crayons, collages or any other two-dimensional, hand-created medium is acceptable.
  • Students entering the contest must be 10 years old or in 4 th grade in a Denver Metro school district during the 2007-2008 school year.
  • By entering, entrants inherently agree to allow reproduction of their art for publicity purposes and for reproduction on printed notecards that will be sold to benefit Trust for Public Land.
