Denver students receive Elks scholarships
Contributed by: Darrell Myers on 5/21/2008

Denver 17 Elks Lodge, Youth Activities and Scholarship Chairman, Malcolm Freeberg, Jr. presented one of our scholarships to deserving students from the Denver community on May 15, 2008 before the assembled lodge members. Ms. Tiffany R. Mylet and her family were invited to dine with the chairman, his wife, Janet and the Lodge Officers. Two of the scholarship recipients were unable to attend festivities because of other commitments.

Ms. Brianna K. Sanelli, received a $1000 scholarship, Ms. Cenea M. Kemp and Ms. Tiffany R. Mylet, both received $500 scholarships from our State Association and lodge scholarship programs.

Each year the B.P.O. Elks seek senior to apply for our scholarship financed by the Elks National Foundation, through the local lodges. You can find the application forms by going to the national website at www.elks.org and selecting scholarships. Normally the applications are available on line around September. And you can also find the lodge nearest your home on the same website.

All lodges within the State of Colorado have at least one scholarship available through our State Association. While many other lodges have their own scholarship program. Denver 17 selects our scholarship recipient from those who have applied for the national scholarships normally.

Visit our lodge website www.denverelks.org for deals about future scholarship opportunities.
