Be a Flu Fighter . . . Volunteer to Help Out at Jefferson County H1N1 Clinics


Jefferson County Public Health and the Visiting Nurse Association are seeking volunteers to assist with upcoming H1N1 school-located vaccination clinics for children and their family members who are considered to be at high risk for complications from 2009 H1N1 influenza. These clinics are for those in the priority groups that are not able to get vaccine through their healthcare provider or who do not have a healthcare provider.

Volunteers are urgently needed to help with a variety of assignments to promote orderly vaccination clinic operations.
Non-medical volunteers are needed to help with the following assignments:
>Volunteer Registration/Hospitality
> Greeters/Line Monitors
>Vaccination Registration
>Vaccination/Supply Assistants
The H1N1 vaccine is currently available in limited quantities and intended for those individuals at highest risk for developing complications from influenza.
These clinics will be held on the following dates and locations:
• Alameda High School: 1255 South Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80232
November 21, December 12 & December 19 (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
• Arvada High School: 7951 W. 65th Ave., Arvada CO 80004
November 21 & December 12 (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
• Chatfield High School: 7227 S. Simms St., Littleton, CO 80127
November 21, December 12 & December 19 (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
• Evergreen High School: 29300 Buffalo Park Rd., Evergreen, CO 80437
November 21, December 12 & December 19 (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
• West Jefferson Middle School: 9449 S. Barnes Ave., Conifer, CO 80433
November 21, December 12 & December 19 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Volunteers may either work from 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m.-5:00p.m. Volunteers must be able to stay for the entire shift and be able to stand for most of the shift. Shifts for clinics at Evergreen High School and West Jefferson Middle School will be 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. or 12:00-5:00 p.m.
