Become a volunteer at Bluff Lake Nature Center!
Bluff Lake Nature Center is a unique urban wildlife refuge and outdoor classroom in east Denver. It is home to an abundance of animals and native plants, and includes a variety of native habitats.
Each year, nearly 5,000 area elementary students visit Bluff Lake as part of one of our formal education programs. Thousands of additional visitors come to Bluff Lake to enjoy a few moments of solace and connection to nature.
Bluff Lake is looking for volunteer naturalists to be leaders in our youth science program! Naturalists introduce small groups of school children to the natural world through hands-on exploration. Naturalists work 1-morning/week. No experience is necessary, and all training is provided on-the-job.
Bluff Lake is also looking for site stewards to lend a hand and make the habitat healthy for our wild friends! Site Stewards work closely with the Site Manager through a variety of activities, including planting native plants, removing noxious plant species, trail construction and trash pick-up.
