The treatment of juveniles in our justice system - a current, hot topic - is the subject of an open meeting presented by the Denver League of Women Voters. This meeting will be held on April 3, 2006 at 5:30 in the Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street.
Paul Rosenthal, a member of the Mayor’s Community Corrections Board and a child advocate with the Pendulum Foundation will be one of three speakers.
County Court Judge, Herbert Galshinsky, will discuss the use of offender diversion programs with which he is familiar, having served in the Juvenile County Court for two terms.
The third speaker, State Representative Terrence Carroll from District 7, is the chairperson of the House Judiciary Committee.
This program reflects both Denver League’s and State League’s on-going interest in juvenile justice. The McCollum Room at Montview Church is handicap accessible.
