UTi, a global logistics company, has a unique way to kick off a six-month program for their emerging leaders.
Candidates from around the globe meet in Denver to perform service work before the official training and the program concludes with service work in Spain.
Glen Mills, Chairman of the UTi Charitable Foundation, says all corporations share a social responsibility, "We have a responsibility to our communities and to our employees. Employees who are encouraged to volunteer and are given the opportunity are more fulfilled and make for a happier, more productive staff."
40 of UTi 's employees taped, painted, cleaned, and barbecued at Volunteers of America's Westgate Towers at 55 S. Lincoln St., Denver.
The affordable housing complex's hallways and common areas were given a make-over by the UTi volunteers and Westgate's elderly residents were treated to lunch and chatted with their new, international friends. The spirit of service is alive and well at Volunteers of America and with our friends around the globe.
