School's kitchen, cafeteria roof set on fire
At 11:44 p.m. Nov. 3, police responded to Beth Jacob High School, 1260 Sheridan Blvd., on a fire report. The Denver Fire Department also responded to the scene and extinguished a fire on the roof of the school. The fire caused damage to the ceiling of the school's kitchen and cafeteria. A witness reported seeing an unknown party flee the scene. The case remains under investigation.
Stolen vehicle set on fire
At 11:30 p.m. Oct. 31, police responded to the 1200 block of South Pecos Street on an arson report. The Denver Fire Department also responded to the scene and extinguished a vehicle on fire. Investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set and the vehicle was stolen out of Edgewater. No injuries were reported.
Suspects steal cash, marijuana
At 9:20 p.m. Nov. 3, police responded to the 4700 block of Sherman Street on a robbery report. Police spoke with a 38-year-old woman who said three men wearing masks entered the house through an unlocked door and threatened her, her husband and mother-in-law with a gun. The suspects demanded money and marijuana. Once they took the items, they fled in an unknown direction.
Man assaulted after fender-bender
At 2:30 a.m. Oct. 30, police responded to the 3500 block of Walnut Street on an aggravated assault report. Police said a 28-year-old man and his friend were walking to his vehicle when they witnessed a white Acura back up into their vehicle and attempt to drive away. The man tried to stop the vehicle and was struck by one of the car's passengers. The vehicle fled eastbound on Walnut Street and the man was taken to Denver Health for treatment.
Vandals use key to trash apartment
At 11:14 p.m. Nov. 2, police responded to the 1100 block of South Umatilla Street on a burglary report. Police said a 23-year-old man was moving out of an apartment and left the key in the mailbox for his landlord. When the man returned to get the rest of his belongings, he said unknown suspects had used the key and vandalized the inside of the residence and stole tools from the garage.
Suspect steals Chanel items from store
At 4:40 p.m. Nov. 3, police responded to Nordstrom, 2810 E. First Ave., on a theft report. Police said a man between the age of 30 to 49 years old stole Chanel brand items from the store and fled in a Honda Accord in an unknown direction.
Unlocked window lets thieves in
At 5:58 p.m. Nov. 2, police responded to the 900 block of Lowell Boulevard on a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects entered a house through an unlocked bathroom window and stole various items.
Woman leaves purse in shopping cart
At 3:35 p.m. Oct. 31, police responded to the 7800 block of East Smith Road on a theft report. Police said a 75-year-old woman left her purse in a shopping cart while she loaded groceries into her vehicle. She discovered her purse was not with her when she drove out of the parking lot. When she returned, her purse was taken out of the shopping cart.
Break-in occurs while woman in garage
At 4:26 p.m. Oct. 30, police responded to the 4200 block of Hooker Street on a burglary report. Police said a 29-year-old woman was in her garage when unknown suspects entered her house through unlocked front door and stole cameras from the living room.
Firearms, jewelry pilfered
At 8:03 p.m. Nov. 3, police responded to the 3900 block of West Exposition Avenue on a burglary report. Police said unknown suspects broke into a house by smashing a basement window. They ransacked the living room and bedroom and stole cash, firearms and jewelry. They also broke into a locked garage.
