Janet Elway will speak in April at Community College of Aurora Scholarship Luncheon
AURORA, Colo. - The Community College of Aurora Foundation has named Janet Elway as Honorary Corporate Chair for its second annual Community College of Aurora (CCA) Foundation Scholarship Recognition Luncheon.
Elway, a metro-area philanthropist, will speak at the luncheon on April 26 at the Hyatt Regency DTC, 7800 E. Tufts Ave.
"As a parent of two college-aged and two high school-aged kids, I appreciate and value the importance of education in providing access to the American dream," Elway said. "Community College of Aurora is an organization that has been providing such access to thousands of individuals over the past two decades.
"I support the mission of Community College of Aurora and encourage others also to support it, first by attending the April luncheon, and second by spreading the word about the incredible work that CCA is accomplishing."
More than 400 people attended last year's inaugural luncheon, which honored more than 40 donors who have funded over $160,000 in scholarships for CCA students during the prior year. Frontier Airlines president and CEO Jeff Potter served as Honorary Corporate Chair in 2006. The title sponsor for this year's luncheon is Centennial-based Brakes Plus.
Since 2000, CCA students have been awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships through the CCA Foundation. For more information, tickets or sponsorship information for this year's luncheon, contact Diana Whye, Community College of Aurora Foundation at (303) 360-4833.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF AURORA FOUNDATION
The Community College of Aurora Foundation was established in 1985 to support the programs and goals of the Community College of Aurora. In two major fundraising campaigns since 2000, the Foundation has raised approximately $4 million in public and private donations and grants from individuals, companies, government agencies and other foundations.
